The Third Street Film Festival was founded in 2011 in Baton Rouge, the capital city of Louisiana. Third Street Film Festival was Baton Rouge's first independent film festival to showcase local filmmakers since Louisiana's rise to one of the top locations for film production in the United States.

After beholding the widespread growth, verve and devotion being put into making films around the state, we decided to give those who were making independent films across Louisiana a chance to be recognized. We also wanted to teach our locals something about all of the remarkable work that has been going on around them.. And so it began.

In 2011, we received multitudes of films from artists who made their productions in our beautiful state of Louisiana. We then selected the best of our submissions and showcased them at the state of the art Manship Theatre at the Shaw Center for the Arts in downtown Baton Rouge. The Third Street Film Festival hopes to enhance the general public and film community at large through our outreach and events. Click here to learn more about our mission.
